Kenyan Army Elite Carrying FN SCAR-H

As I write this the elite Kenya Army troops are assaulting the Westfield shopping mall in Nairobi. According to the Kenyan government on Twitter (@InteriorKE) most of the hostages have been rescued and most of the mall is under government control.

Many TFB readers noticed that the Kenyan Army, probably a special forces unit, are carrying FN SCAR-H 7.62x51mm rifles with EOTech sights, with some others carrying AR-15 style rifles chambered in 5.56mm. The regular army service rifles are 7.62x39mm Type 56 AKs and 7.62x51mm H&K G3 rifles. The elite capital police force units are using AR-15 / M4 rifles. The regular police have been seen using Type-56 and Type 56-2 AKs and miscellaneous pistols.

My thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this cowardly terrorist attack. I hope it will be resolved today without the loss of any more hostages.
