Taurus 24/7 G2
There’s no shortage of reasons for the ascendancy of polymer-frame pistols. They’re relatively light in weight, darn-near indestructible, reliable and relatively inexpensive. For years, Taurus International has offered autoloaders in various sizes, calibers and configurations to cover just about any need.

One of the best was introduced in 2011. It’s the 24/7 G2. Many of the features of previous models, notably the 800 Series and original 24/7, have been incorporated into it. There are currently 24 variations on the 24/7 G2 platform, but the one I have experience with is the full-size standard 9mm (there are compact models and .40 and .45 ACP versions as well).
The 24/7 is a handsome handgun. The grip is comfortable and has molded-in “checkering” front and back, and grooves on the sides that provide a sturdy grasp. There are memory pads on each side of the top of the grip to help promote a consistent hold for better shooting and finger-rest dimples on each side of the frame just ahead of the trigger. These provide a safe place to park your trigger finger until you’re ready to shoot.
A great feature on the 24/7 G2 is the Strike Two trigger. If a round fails to fire, just pull the trigger again until it does. There’s no need to immediately rack the slide to set the striker or clear the round.
