In competition shooting, seconds count. When looking specifically at 3-gun competitions where a shotgun is involved, seconds are usually gained or lost during reloads. Here we’ll be taking a look at the Carbon Arms TWinS (TWo in Shotgun) system.
The TWinS system is a single piece of lightweight plastic that can hold 8 shells. What is unique is the system gives the user three loading options: 1) “Load 2″ strong-hand 2) “Load 2″ weak-hand 3) Traditional “load 4″.

I spent 20 minutes at Benelli’s SHOT Show booth practicing with the TWinS system, some dummy ammo, and a Benelli M2 3-gun edition. Fellow 3-gunner (and Carbon Arms co-founder) James Casanova gave me a nice demo and a free lesson. I found the TWinS system very easy to pick up, especially having had previous “load 2″ experience. But even if you’ve never used the “load 2″ approach, many users find it easier and faster to learn than the “traditional load 4″ approach which can require a bit more dexterity. But the beauty of the TWinS system is you can choose either.

If you’re looking for a shotgun shell caddy solution, the TWinS system is definitely worth considering.
